Welcome @superbek and thanks for the report.

  • Is there a JavaScript error showing in your browser console?
  • Does the problem still occur if you deactivate all your plugins?

No javascript error shown (Chrome & FF).

We have 65 active plugins, deactivating them all would cripple our website (and I would have to do each one manually since "select all" doesn't work) so at this time, I cannot see this as an option for us.

I have also uncovered another issue regarding product images and the ability to remove or update them. Can we troubleshoot that here as well, or would I need to open a separate ticket?

Additionally, the "product data" portion of the product detail screen isn't allowing me to click through anything on the left menu of that area (general, inventory, BOGO, variations, etc.).

Was 5.5 an automatic update? Since it released yesterday, I would imagine that is where a majority of the issues are stemming from.

@superbek could you try installing and activating this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/.

This will confirm that there is JavaScript on your site that needs to be updated to follow more modern jQuery practices. You can leave the plugin active for the time being, but the breaking code will need to be updated before the next step of the Upgrading jQuery in Core roadmap.

If the plugin does fix your issue, then please reach out to the plugins and themes that contain the old code directly.

I'm marking this as a close candidate as I am fairly confident this is the source of the issues you are seeing and would make this not a WP Core issue.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
