This is a great solution. Great starter for YouTubers and podcasters. It's adjustable. It looks great. Not a huge space hog.
There ARE heavier ones out there but this should handle most condensers just fine.
I'd be a little nervous about some of the heavy tube condensers. A heavy C12 clone for example.

With a typical condenser, you will want to flip the mic upside-down for use on your desk, like the picture I have attached. When you do this, some shock-mounts will touch the base. Make sure to not let it actually touch or it will defeat the purpose of the shock-mount.

For the RE20 guys, this style works okay, depending on how far you have it extended. I'm using an Advanced Audio DM20 in the picture. It MIGHT be heavier than the RE20. Not sure. But in the position that I would LIKE to set it, which is extended, it makes me nervous. It could easily hit the floor. A heavier base would be preferred in this situation.

Hope that helps someone. We'll be launching a YouTube channel soon on nutrition called Despicable Food. This desk stand won't be my "go-to", but it is very usable. Enjoy yourselves!

I received this microphone as a gift for Christmas because I was just entering into audiobook narration, and needed a stand to hold my microphone.

What is this, and why might I want it?: This is a desktop stand for a microphone that has excellent build quality and will enable you to hold your mic for recording purposes. You might want it if you're going to do voice overs at your desk, or even just dictate using Dragon Naturally Speaking, Google Docs, or some other voice recognition program. It would also help for Skype calls or any other sort of communication using your computer.

First Impression: The funny thing is, I didn't know what this was when it was wrapped under the tree. I was thrown off a little bit by the density, or weight, of such a small package. That's a good thing, because it's simply demonstrates the heavy-duty nature and durability of the stand.

Assembly: Assembly a straightforward. Take the pole, stick it in the hole, and twist to tighten it down. You can adjust the height, as you can see in the pictures comma from about 8.5 inches to about 13 inches. The base is heavy enough, but it doesn't seem to get top-heavy with that range of heights.

Function: If you have a standard microphone, this is definitely the table for you. It works great with a Shure SM 58, and it was able to hold my blue yeti, no it was a bit top-heavy since the yeti is a monstrously big microphone. Per standard microphones, you can't go wrong.

What you're getting with this order: When you open the box, you have the two pieces that fit together for the microphone stand, itself. And instructions, so I'm not sure they're needed.

What you're not going to get: There is not a clip for a standard microphone. Given that mini professional microphones can screw directly to the shaft of the stand, that's not really a huge concern. However, if you have a standard handheld microphone, you’ll need to get a clip to go with it.

Appearance: Flat black, with no bells and whistles. I do like to the base has a rougher finish, that keeps it from attracting fingerprints and you can't really notice that dust nearly as much.

Build: This thing is solid. We're talking “ if someone were to break into your home at night, and you were sitting at your desk, and that's where the first thing you pick up… you would easily be able to complete the act “in the library with microphone stand”” solid.

Any negatives?: I can't really fault the stand for not holding my blue yeti, especially when I add the shock mount to it. I did not take a start off because of this, since the stand is Compact and does exactly what it's supposed to.

Bottom line: You'll end up with an excellent, compact microphone stand. And one that can easily be used for self-defense weapon in a pinch.

nice stand for saving space but not stable for condenser mic

I like this product because it allowed me to get rid of my space consuming mic stand that had tripod legs and did not get high enough to stand and use (it was a sitting tall mic stand). SO it worked ok and served a function. This desktop mic stand is very convenient as it created (or saved) a ton of space in my office. It is seems to be made of decent quality material. the only issue i have is that the base is not heavy enough. in the question and answer portion of the sellers page it alluded/stated that it is compatible with condenser microphones. They are partially correct. The stand fits my condenser microphone (AKG P120) and sound absorbent foam shield, however the weight of the condenser mic (and possibly the shield) has created an unstable moment leading to constant tipping over of the entire mic stand setup. I had to use a heavy paper weight to create stability. a heavier base (probably twice the density current base) may fix the issue.

Too tall AND too short at the same time

I really wanted this mic stand to be perfect, and it's VERY close to being perfect...but...I can't seem to get the mic stand adjusted to the right height with my Rode Mic, shock mount, and pop filter on it. On it's lowest setting, and the mic right side up, the mic is too high up. On it's tallest setting, the mic starts to tip a little and lose balance because it's so heavy, so you need to flip the mic upside down, but when it's upside down, the mic is now too short. So the problem is: the stand doesn't go as low as I need it to, but it also doesn't go as high as I need it to when the mic is flipped. I suppose an "easy" fix would be to get a shorter table, and/or a taller chair...or get a taller table and a shorter chair. But both are a pain. I really wish this stand would just go a few inches lower and/or a few inches higher. So far, I haven't found a better alternative, so I guess I'll be keeping this...but I'm not a 100% happy customer. Nothing wrong with the stand itself: It's just not working quite right for me, for my particular mic, and particular table/chair situation.

Sturdy stand but needs extra weight if you want to mount a Yeti

I like this desktop mic stand and it is pretty solid, as most On Stage stands tend to be. However, if you are looking to mount a Yeti (or Yeti Pro I assume), then the weight of the Radius II shock mount and the mic itself will be too heavy. I could only get it to stand for a couple seconds at a time, but I pretty much expected this would happen with any desktop mic stand. Those wall mount mic stands would probably work better. Another review noted that this may be best utilized with a dynamic mic instead, and I think that is good advice. I did find a way to make it work with my husband's old weights though!! It can handle the extra weight and now it is so sturdy that I don't have to worry about it at all. It works well for scratch tracks, which is what I wanted it for. I know it looks funny, but it works and I'm happy. :D

I've been using a mic boom for years now and while it was convenient I never liked how it took up so much space on my desk, or how it looked. I wanted something clean and sturdy, something I could slide out and set aside when finished. This lead me on a search for a microphone stand. After playing around with a couple stands I ended up with On Stages Mic Stand. It's weighty, wide base has more than enough stability for my mic and its height is perfect for my desk. Best of all it's pretty easy on the eyes and the build quality is rather impressive for something so inexpensive.

I absolutely recommend this product.

I really like this stand, it's very heavy and made of metal, not plastic. It also has rubber feet. This combines to greatly reduce unwanted noise affecting the microphone. It also has a telescoping function that I really appreciate and didn't expect to find at this price point. There are a ton of flimsy plastic stands on Amazon, this isn't one of them, this is a good one.
