Risks

There are business risks involved in moving to the cloud – will it cost more in the long run? Will this off-the-shelf system provide me the flexibility I may need for future projects? Will clients be unhappy with their information being held off-site? Legal issues should also be considered – what will it cost if they sue for losses or breaches? If I have to prove I followed regulations, can my cloud company provide a proper audit trail?

Proper risk assessment should be carried out for every aspect of the business that you may want to move to the cloud. What about service outages? Will I be first on the fix list? What are the disaster recover plans?
