"I ve moved house 18 times in the past 20 years, and 5 of those were across state lines but this was my first time using a long distance moving service (I ve used local movers many times). I was nervous based on some of the negative reviews here plus stories you hear about problems moving long distance in general, but this was honestly one of the top 3 best moves I ve ever had. I received bids from half a dozen reputable moving companies and received a huge range of cost estimates; Allstate wasn t the lowest, but they were close (maybe $100-200 over my lowest bid). I chose them because the sales rep told me they would use a 26 truck instead of a semi, and because he thought my move from southern CA to northern AZ would be only 2-3 days (everyone else quoted 7-21 days, which seems to be the standard). However, there was some confusion later around that because they officially can t quote such a quick turnaround which I learned after I paid my $600 deposit; I was then told by someone else that it would be 7-10 days and the truck *would* be a semi. I was disappointed, but whatever; not the end of the world as this was in line with other companies I spoke with. Well, in the end they DID use a 26 truck...AND they picked up and delivered within a 32-hour window!! (Which worked well for me; if I hadn t been available to receive the next day, I m sure it would ve taken longer.) I was beyond thrilled, as I was prepared to not have my things until the New Year given the holidays. On top of that, they were an hour early on both ends (even helped me pack up my last couple of boxes since I wasn t quite ready for them I ve literally *never* had a moving company show up early!) AND the crew was fantastic. The driver/lead guy Amir was top notch, re-explaining all the charges and processes with me, and his team was fast and efficient. He fairly charged me an extra $75 on both ends because of a longer than 50-foot walk, which is stated in the contract, and that was my bad for under-estimating the distance. I correctly estimated all of my belongings, so my square footage quote was accurate. You do have to pay cash or money order upon delivery, which is a bit inconvenient (and some of the other companies will take credit cards at every step of the process), but this was worth it considering that with Allstate you get a company registered with the federal government (you can look them up), they have trucks bearing the company name (not all movers do), and they spell everything out in writing and are professional. My understanding is that this is a family owned business, and I do think they truly care even if there were a few communication hiccups. I know not everyone will get as lucky as me, and I have the benefit of (far too) many moves, which means my expectations for a moving company are not sky high. That said, I wouldn t hesitate to recommend Allstate as a professional, reputable moving company, but do yourself a favor and get at least 3 bids, do your research, and go with your gut. (And cut these guys some slack moving sucks, and these people move other people s crap around the country for a living!)"

"I used Eagle Moving And Storage to move from San Bruno , to San Francisco . It was a very last min Move . Price was more competitive than other companies I spoke to, and quickly sent me an inventory and pricing. Once I confirmed I would be using them, customer service ( John ) called me to establish a payment method. The guys who packed up my apartment showed up early (which was awesome) and were quick and efficient. Shout out to Clayton , Diego & James . I chose to pack up most of my things but the larger things like my full length mirror, TV, couch, dresser, dining chairs and artwork they packed up with great care. I was amazed at how well they wrapped everything in plastic and blankets and more plastic. The Movers were as nice, professional and efficient . They put everything back together and in the right place, and helped clear all of the boxes. Again, pricing and paperwork was super transparent and I was very comfortable with the whole process. Overall, this being my first time doing a Local move with a moving company ( usually I rent my own truck ) I was so nervous, but I really didn't have to be. The process was easy, clear and priced competitively. Also none of my stuff was broken or misplaced. Most importantly though, the guys I worked with were so nice, and didn't pressure me about tipping or anything (which of course I did anyway). I am in the military and finding 24/7 Logistic Services was amazing as they have great services specific to moving military families anywhere in the US. They know how to move you from point A to point B without any hiccups which many of the other options did not seem as reliable. They are courteous, friendly, and the staff is always finding ways to help us save money or make our mind feel at ease. We have a lot of breakable items and nothing was lost or broken from either move. They were on time with the pickup and the delivery went just as planned.
