Directive No 2236-r of 2 September 2020
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a
directive to resume international air service, on a mutual basis, with the
following countries:
- Egypt (Cairo), 3 flights per week
- United Arab Emirates (Dubai), 2 flights per week
- Republic of Maldives (Velana airport), 2 flights per week.
The decision was proposed by the Government Emergency Response Centre based on the existing criteria (40 new coronavirus cases in 14 days per 100,000 people, daily growth in the incidence rate under 1 percent over the past 14 days, and the COVID-19 community spread indicator under 1 for 7 days), and is reciprocal.
In addition to this, the Government decided to increase the number of flights to and from Switzerland, up to four per week, two operated by Aeroflot from Moscow to Geneva and back, and the other two operated by Swiss Air following the route Zurich–Moscow–Zurich. Up until now these airlines were permitted to have only one flight per week each.
The Emergency Response Centre continues to monitor developments and has plans to add more countries to the list of approved flight destinations.
