    Not sure if this will actually be helpful to anybody but here's the code I'm using on top of the Ryu theme :) also contains some visual customizations I've racked up over time.

    I'm supposed to be writing a blog post but in classic developer form I decided I wouldn't be happy about it until I finally made my site work the way I wanted it to, so yay now all my image posts show up as a grid in between "real" posts on !

    Also I just want to say that I actually made this work weeks ago but I thought it was broken because in a super weird coincidence nothing before my last "real" blog post had a featured image set so it wasn't showing up. I had more of a content error than developer error :(
