    Friends: my hometown of Sulphur, Louisiana was decimated by . The area looks like a war zone, no press coverage. We did not "get lucky" or as Politicians stated. Many people who live in poverty have been left with absolutely nothing. Never met a hurricane?

    isn't in the news much anymore, but communities in SW Louisiana are still struggling to recover. Scientists are using satellite imagery and drones to assess damage, but it will take months to know the full extent of coastal impacts. (photo by Gerald Hebert )

    Day 2 survey...down Highway 82 to Grand Chenier where Twin Oaks Subdivision was just swept away by a solid 12-15ft of water equating to a 16-18ft surge. No personal belongings left here just building/trailer skeletal remains. Not even a bird can be heard.

    If you’re the type to get queasy, maybe scroll past. This is the scene at the I-10 beach today. I’m sure this is normal for fish to unfortunately get pushed ashore during a hurricane, its just wild to see it with your own eyes.
