Where the UK’s Open communities meet and collaborate

We are a UK not for profit organisation committed to develop and sustain UK leadership in Open Technology, being open source software, open source hardware and open data, across the UK.

The first edition of our Kids’ Competition and Course openuk.uk/kidscompetition are under way and  featured in Computer Weekly.

The First Edition of the OpenUK Awards launched on March 30 and nominations run for an extended period until *30 June* at openuk.uk/awards.

The Awards will be held on 20 October in London (Covid-19 permitting) and remotely as appropriate openuk-awards-nominations/.

OpenUK promotes businesses, projects and people, who use Open and strives to collaborate across all existing organisations for Open by creating a clear and loud voice for the Open Communities in the UK; influencing UK Legal and Policy to make the UK a great place for Open business and by promoting education and learning in skills in Open Technology.

Do you participate in an Open community or business?

Our participants are specialists in open source software, hardware and data or those who want to learn more. They benefit from our organisational infrastructure to meet, learn and pursue collaborative projects.

We work through Community Committees focusing on: Events, Learning, Legal and Policy, Museums, Universities, OpenUK Awards and OpenUK Week.

We welcome participation. Participation in any OpenUK activity or event is open to all but subject to our Participants’ Code of Respect and the OpenUK Competition Policy. By participating you agree to comply with these.
