The BRICS Business Council was established after the V BRICS Summit in Durban, South Africa, March 27, 2013. In accordance with the Declaration of Establishment, the Council is to create a platform to discuss the matters of strengthening and promoting the economic, trade, business, and investment relations between the businesses of the five countries, as well as to maintain a dialogue between entrepreneurs and governmental officials. Each country is represented in the Council by five officials.
On the part of the Russian Federation, the Business Council is coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce.
The Professional Training Working Group is one of the seven BRICS Business Council Working Groups and is responsible for exchange of best practices in professional training in order to close the gap between the needs of the rapidly growing BRICS economies and the quality of education in these countries. The key goal of the group is to generate a general vision of how future competencies will develop, as well as to develop joint projects to actualize that vision.
The Agency for Strategic Development is actively involved in the Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council, as it supervises the Russian part of the group.
