England cricketer shaving head to raise money for NHS

England and Kent cricketer Sam Billings says he is going to shave his head to raise money for the NHS.

The 28-year-old wicket keeper and batsman has joined a fundraising campaign which has already raised £11,000 to assist the NHS and its staff.

He has pledged to take part in the Instagram challenge #ShaveHeadsSaveLives.

The funds raised could contribute towards protective clothing for nurses and doctors, more hospital beds or equipment to support those who are suffering.

A man has been charged with spitting at a shop assistant in York.

The offence is said to have happened at the Tesco Express store in Low Ousegate at 19:00 yesterday evening.

North Yorkshire Police say it is alleged the man spat at the shop worker and made comments about him getting coronavirus.
