While recent years have brought greater awareness and on-screen inclusion of transgender characters and storylines, the representation gap persists for trans individuals onscreen and behind the scenes. In this panel presented by the Television Academy Foundation, the participants explored the pathways and roadblocks to expanding storytelling and visibility of trans individuals and communities in a lively conversation.

The 71st Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, presented by the Television Academy, were handed out on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center.

Television Academy members and their guests explored a world of diverse creativity and imagination as top animation studio talent welcomed them to experience a variety of animation styles and techniques, cutting edge technology and formats ranging from traditional to hand-held stop motion to interactive VR. The event was held at the Television Academy’s North Hollywood, California campus on Saturday, June 29, 2019.

On Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the Television Academy recognized seven outstanding programs that have leveraged the dynamic power of television to inspire social change.

A panel of distinguished writers discussed their experiences portraying LGBTQ+ love and romance on television, giving insight to members on how to avoid stereotypes and pitfalls, and instructing them on how to tell organic, inclusive stories.

Performers, creators, and activists gathered for a lively discussion.

The 39th College Television Awards were held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Wolf Theatre at the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California.

“Perfect Harmony: A Live Performance Celebrating the Impact of Music in Documentaries” was a concert celebrating the significance of original songs and scores, using live music and extended video clips to share how music enhances documentary storytelling. The event was held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Wolf Theater in the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California.

Moderator Tom Bergeron and a panel of special guests explored the actor/producer/director's career and tenacity In Staying at the Table: A Conversation with Henry Winkler at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center.
