    Revenue Statistics Africa: Key findings for Togo

    The tax-to-GDP ratio in Togo decreased by 1.1 percentage points from 22.1% in 2016 to 21.0% in 2017. In comparison, the average for the 26 African countries in Revenue Statistics in Africa 2019 remained at 17.2% over the same period.

    Doing business in West Africa is getting easier, notably in Togo

    Togo stands out from the crowd in the latest “Doing Business“ ranking. For the second year in a row, the country is among the ten economies that improved the most. Moving up from rank 156 (2018) to rank 97 (2020), Togo became the best-performing West African country. However, ten West African countries rank in the bottom 50, and only two African countries (Mauritius, rank 13 and Rwanda, rank 38), are among the top 50.

    Analyse de l'impact des politiques fiscales et de protection sociale sur les inégalités et la pauvreté au Togo

    Cette étude estime l’impact redistributif des revenus fiscaux (les impôts) et des dépenses fiscales à travers les transferts monétaires, non monétaires, et les subventions, sur les revenus des ménages et les inégalités. Deux conclusions ressortent de cette analyse : la politique fiscale réduit les inégalités au Togo, mais appauvrit les ménages les plus pauvres.

    Togo: Launch of the Youth Well-being Policy Review of Togo, 14 March 2018, Lomé

    The OECD Development Centre, together with the Ministry of Grassroots Development, Crafts, Youth, and Youth Employment (MDBAJEJ) and the Delegation of the European Union to Togo organised an event in Lomé on 14 March 2018 to present the key findings and recommendations of the Youth Well-being Policy Review of Togo and to develop a roadmap identifying the key actions needed to implement the recommendations of the study.
