A theory: right wing politics isn’t really politics- it’s a shell of presentation with nothing at its core- pure self preservation and promotion with no actual memetic ‘cargo’. 1/some

In 1997 Tony Blair and Paddy Ashdown agreed a non-agression pact. There were no candidates stood aside, but the Lib Dems and Labour agreed not to campaign against one another in seats where that would help the Tories, and they agreed not to talk about each other on the airwaves

Under a proportional electoral system, it wouldn't matter which party you supported - every voter's choice would be treated equally.

An excellent potted post-mortem from Sam, which does rather underline the challenge ahead for progressive socialist politics and parties in general. Corbyn can’t take all the blame for this- wrong man for the job entirely, but this is a team game.

The strapline on the channel keeps putting up quotes from the Chief Rabbi and the Jewish Labour Movement. But not the statement from the Muslim Council expressing their fears about a Johnson Government.

My dad is chair of Redcar foodbank. Almost 2,000 CHILDREN now rely on it. We can't survive another five years of Tory government. The Tories winning here is obscene.
