🔥 NEW SERVICE PILOT 🔥 We're piloting voice technology that allows customers to ask basic banking questions like 'what's my balance?' through a Google Home smart speaker or smart phone. And it's secure, with access protected by a voice PIN only you can set up.

We invited ~30,000 customers to register for the pilot and 500 have been chosen to start testing the service later this month, including 30 with a disability. We're not taking any more sign ups right now, but keep following us to find out about other technology we're trialling.

    Will payments to
the EU cost me more
money after Brexit?

While future government regulations will only apply in the UK, we don't expect there to be extra charges for using a card in EU countries.

Existing foreign exchange
charges will still apply.
Will I be able to make
and receive payments
from EU countries?

Yes. Making payments to EU countries
will be the same as it is now. Your
usual direct debits and other payments
should continue as normal.
Will I be able to make
payments from the UK
in euros?

Yes. You’ll be able to make payments in euros in the same way as you would now.

Will I be able to access my account online and my mobile app from other countries?

Yes. There should be no changes so you can continue to access and use online banking and your mobile app as usual.
Will I be able to order travel money before travelling to EU countries?

Yes, but if there’s significant market
disruption after Brexit, we may need to make
short term changes to our travel money service.

Try to order at least
5 days before collection to ensure the
currency you need is available.
I live in an EU country
and have a NatWest
account. Will I be able to use it?

Yes. There should be no changes so you can continue to access and use your account as usual. Your direct debits and payments should
continue as normal.
    Will Euros be
more expensive for
my holiday?

Fluctuations in currency could and do occur.
As we do today, NatWest will always
offer the best price we can.

    Will my money be safe?

Yes. Your money will continue to be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
    Will my NatWest
travel insurance still
cover me in the EU?
Yes. If your travel’s delayed or has to be abandoned due to Brexit disruption, you’ll be covered according to the T&Cs of any travel insurance policy that you have with your NatWest current account. And you’ll be covered for all insured health conditions.
Can I still use ATMs in EU countries?

Yes. It will still be easy to use your bank card in ATMs across Europe, in much the same way as you can use it already in non-EU countries, such as America or Australia.
Will I still be able to use my debit or credit card in the EU?

Yes. You'll still be able to use your cards to make payments or withdraw money from ATMs. You can also continue to use Apple or Android Pay, as you do today too.

⚠️ We’ve noticed an increase in the number of scam telephone calls. To stay safe from these calls to read our advice and learn what to look out for.

Scam alert: increase in scam phone calls. Fraudsters claiming to be from your bank will call to tell you that there’s a problem with your account. They’ll ask for your personal details (such as your mobile activation code) and will tell you they’ll keep you safe if you provide the information.
Don’t forget that fraudsters will pressure you to act quickly, they do this so you’ll have less time to think. And remember, they may also already have some of your personal information including your name or address and will use these to convince you the call is genuine.
Never give out or type the following details over the phone: •	Your mobile banking app activation code and passcode •	Your full Online Banking pin •	Your full Online Banking password •	Card reader codes •	Details from your debit or credit cards
If you’re asked for any of these details, end the call immediately (even if the caller claims they’re from your bank or the police). If you’re still concerned, remember that you can always find genuine numbers for your bank on their website.
