Comment: We purchased a new backdoor from Home Depot and my husband installed it. This was his first time replacing a door and he had a few problems putting the door in. Example, it would not shut from the top right hand side and he had to sand it down. The door opens and closes fine now, however, light shines through the bottom half (where the door knob is and below) when the door is shut. I am not sure if I need a new back door (praying that is not the case) or if the door can be fixed.

Comment: None of the programmed answers describe my project. My project is to remove a 5' picture window in what appears to be a non-load bearing wall and the associated crippler studs, and then install a 5' patio door. I have removed the interior drywall and the exterior brick. I have the door already onsite and painted. I do not want any ext or int trim reinstalled. This is what appears to be a simple remove and install. Two possible issues, the door is slightly wider than the window and thus the header cripplers must be removed and a work around to ensure the header remains in place. The second issue is the brick ledge needs to be raised to the level of the interior slab.
