Project: Remodel a Kitchen
Austin, TX

Russ was prompt and gave many options for the budget I wanted to stay in. He always kept in communication through out the process and the job was done very well.

Project: Remodel a Kitchen
Austin, TX

We had our kitchen totally remodeled by Casa Dolce. Joel, the owner, was completely honest, reliable, and trustworthy. His tradesman were kind, highly skilled, and always had us, the homeowner, in mind. The first time I met Joel, I told him that I wanted others to walk in to our kitchen and say, "Wow! Who did your kitchen?" That has happened several times already. I would highly recommend Casa Dolce for any remodeling project, and hopefully next year we can use them for out bathroom remodeling. I now consider Joel a friend, and look forward to using his company for future projects.

We were amazed at the value we got with Casa Dolce! Of the 3 bids we got, they were the lowest so we were nervous. Also estimated job to be done in half the time of the other bids. Job came in ahead of time and under budget and was almost perfectly done! The craftsmanship was exceptionally good, the job site was cleaned up every night before they left, and the quality was stellar. Few things have had small problems, mostly due to drought and heat, but have all been fixed under the warranty with just a call. We will begin another major reno of our second home in a couple of years and there is no one else to call... Casa Dolce!

Ideas & Inspiration from Austin Addition & Remodeling Contractors

Austin Kitchen Remodeling

Kitchen remodeling remains one of the largest investments you will make in your home. Kitchen remodels remain popular because they work as an independent home investment and a promise to improve your daily life. Austin kitchen remodeling is no exception. Compared to most big cities, Austin is a tightly knit town that lends itself to entertaining neighbors and friends. A kitchen remodel will not only help facilitate the ability to entertain, it will invoke the admiration of your house guests.

The Cost of Kitchen Remodeling in Austin, TX
By logging hundreds and hundreds of customer ratings in our database, we have determined the national average of a kitchen remodel is about $18,500. As you might expect, this number can vary widely. For "surface? remodels that don't involve extensive design or tearing out of old appliances and installations, you can get a kitchen remodel done for a few thousand dollars. For a full kitchen remodel, though, a bargain basement kitchen remodeling plan might be had for $10,000, but more than likely you're going to spend somewhere closer to $15,000. For more high-end choices, you can easily hit $25,000.

Almost all home remodeling projects find unexpected expenses along the way. It's unavoidable, but this doesn't mean you can't be prepared. One idea is to set a soft and hard budget line. For example, you might sit down with a contractor and tell him or her that you'd like to spend no more than $15,000 and you absolutely can't go over $20,000. A flexible plan is best. For example, if your kitchen remodeling project goes off without a hitch, you might have an extra project or item for your kitchen remodel. This can be anything from new cutlery, a breakfast nook, a kitchen sink upgrade, etc. That way, if something does come up during the remodeling process, you'll have the wiggle room in your budget.

If money is a big concern, you may be able to take some time and locate local Austin kitchen remodeling subcontractors and manage the project yourself. This may save you a little bit of money, but it can also create a lot of unnecessary headaches. The work may need to be done in a certain order to be done correctly. There are generally fewer guarantees for the completed work, and general contractors know who can be trusted and who can't. We can help you find quality kitchen remodeling subcontractors in Austin, but you'll still need to be on the ball to get the same quality kitchen remodel without a general contractor. It will also almost surely add a considerable amount of time to complete the remodel as well.

The Ins and Outs of an Austin Kitchen Renovation/Remodel
Many homeowners want to know what they should expect throughout the kitchen remodeling process. The most important part of this process is simply communicating with your kitchen remodeling contractor. More than just cost, scheduling and detailing how you want each piece of your remodel to look are both vital to maintaining a good relationship with your contractor. Be sure to listen to what your contractor says, but don't be sheepish with expressing your own views and preferences. In other words, use the contractor's expertise, but make sure you get what you want.

If you include all the planning, designing, remodeling, and post-construction, the average length of time a kitchen remodel takes is about six months. Some may even take a year or more. Kitchen remodels usually take this long simply because a homeowner wants/needs it to. If you've had a small financial windfall and have a pretty good idea about what you want from your new kitchen, you can conceivably have a full kitchen remodel done in about a month or so.

Project Duration of a Kitchen Remodel in Austin That said, while you do have quite a bit of control over how long your project takes, you probably don't want to sacrifice the quality or cost of your remodeling project just to get it done faster. Regardless of how long the planning and design process takes, the actual remodeling work shouldn't take that long. Austin kitchen remodeling contractors understand the most inconvenient part of a kitchen remodel is simply being without a kitchen.

Many homeowners decide to vacate the home during the meat of the project. This isn't a bad idea, as some of the chemicals used may make it difficult to remain in the house. Plus, your remodeling contractor will probably be able to get the work done a lot faster if he or she doesn't have to work around you and your family. Just make sure you get on the same page with your contractor. You don't want to make plans to stay somewhere else, and then not have your contractors available to do the work during this time.

Made for Austin: Outdoor Kitchens
Before you start your Austin kitchen remodel, you should make sure this is the right home improvement project for you. Outdoor kitchens have become an extremely popular home addition, and Austin was one of the trendsetters. It's not hard to understand why. The long summers and mild winters make outdoor kitchens a truly positive force on your lifestyle. Keg tappers and a high-performance grill will make you the envy of your neighbors. After all, what would the Red River Shootout be without BBQ and beer? Regardless of whether you bleed burnt orange or simply enjoy the Austin weather, outdoor kitchens may make a lot more sense for your home than an indoor kitchen remodel. As improved as your new kitchen may be, it's not going to offer the unique advantages of having a full-capacity second kitchen to service your outdoor living areas.

Choosing an Austin Kitchen Remodel Contractor
Before you choose any one contractor, talk to several and get written estimates. Set up meetings with your top choices, and take the time to sit down in person with each contractor and discuss your Austin kitchen remodel in detail. Ask not only how long your general contractor has been in business for, but how long this general contractor has been working with his or her kitchen subcontractors. Check for licensing, insurance, and references as an initial screening process, but in the end, you may find two or more remodeling contractors who seem reliable, trustworthy, and personable. Your final decision may very well come from your gut feeling.
