Very professional. Also was convenient since all "paperwork" requirements, such as the contract, payment, etc was done through emails and their web apps. When they fininished the job they emailed pictures to me within an hour after completion. I highly recommend them for this type of application.

Prior to hiring Mass Energy Lab I spoke to 3 other companies about insulating my attic. After multiple phone calls with all four companies, it was apparent that they were the most knowledgeable in their field. I requested a time table I would have expected push back on, but they were extremely accommodating. A team came out within days and completed the job on time. Everyone that I spoke with were very polite and professional. They accomplished the job and left no sign that they had ever been there. I will never use another insulation company for my home again!

I was very fortunate to find out about Mass Energy Lab Insulation because my home was not as well insulated as I had once thought. I had no idea how much energy I was losing in the form of heat and the strain it was putting on my bank account due to the gas bill. When my water pipes burst due very low temperature in the winter, I knew I had to call the right company. The employees of Mass Energy were able to identify the weaknesses in insulation and were able to address the situation in a very timely manner. As soon as the job was completed, I could feel the difference right away. The heater no longer had to work as much as it used to and it has been a lot more comfortable to live at home!

Really really caring workers. They covered everything with plastic and moved all the heavy boxes out of the attic for me and put them on the floor below. As I couldn't move them myself before they came over for the work. They also explained everything that they did after they were done so I understood exactly what went on.

We hired Mass Energy Lab to resolve our ice dam issues. After the really bad ice dams last year and the heavy snow, our contractor had suggested that we talk to an insulation company that really knows what to do to ensure that ice dams don't occur. We have been living here for 7 years and have an old colonial, where there is no room for soffit vents so attic ventilation has been lacking. We needed to find a solution where we could still make sure that we don't have ice dams but not have to go through any major restructuring. These folks suggested we go with a hot roof. Paul Smith was our project manager and he explained that they only do insulation but have specialists that focus on different parts of the home and that he solely focuses on attic insulation issues. He has roofing as well as HVAC experience and plumbing. He pointed out that the heat from our HVAC unit in the attic is melting the snow on our roofs! What a mistake we made when we installed it 3 years ago and our HVAC company didn't tell us that this would happen. Paul told us that this is a common occurrence. Lots of people install a heating system in the attic of an old home and they don't think about the heat loss into the attic and through the roof. He suggested we have spray foam installed on our roof. He also recommended a fire retardant paint of some sort so that its compliant with fire code. We spoke with my husband's friend who is an architect and he said that the hot roof is something that more and more homeowners are doing to solve their ice dam issues. We would be sealing the ridge vent and gable vents - basically all vents and then having the insulation completely blanket the home. This sounded a bit new to us but after looking it up online, we decided to give it a go. Especially after the Boston Globe article about Ice dams last year. So we signed up to have the insulation installed. The actual insulation took 2 days and I liked how they prepared the home for the insulation. Paul dropped by to check on the progress of the crew. Even though they had covered the place with cloths and plastic everywhere he asked one of the guys to cover an area with a cloth that was a bit further away as he said that there hose can curl up there. The guys were really really polite and they went the extra mile to make sure that they kept us updated on everything. We had the insulation done in November and though its been a mild winter, this is the first time in 7 years that we haven't had any ice dams at all. As I am writing this, I am looking out of the window to see snow and yet I am not worried at all as its not March and we haven't had an issue at all. Definitely recommend spray foam and of course the guys at Mass Energy Lab!
