The Higher School of Economics has entered the Times Higher Education rankings by subject in two categories, Business & Economics (101-125 group), and Social sciences (176-200 group), showing the best result among schools that participate in Project 5-100 in these areas.
The Grit Scale questionnaire has gained popularity over the past decade, not only in research but also in practical psychology and in employee selection. The questionnaire is used to measure 'grit' – a personality trait which combines perseverance in reaching one's goals, on one hand, and consistency of one's interests over time, on the other. HSE researchers have found a way to prove that 'grit' is not a single personality trait and the Grit Scale measures two independent constructs.
Ahead of the eLearning Stakeholders and Researchers Summit 2017 which starts October 10, the HSE News Service asked the key speakers about whether online platforms compete with universities, the barriers for eLearning, and the prospects for the field.
On September 19, 2017, a ceremony of the Art Directors Club Russia (ADCR) Awards took place in Moscow. Students from the HSE Art and Design School with their ‘Genders*’ and ‘Save Frisian’ projects took first and second prizes in the ‘Young & Students’ nomination. Furthermore, Oxana Paley, Curator at the HSE Art and Design School, took third place in the ‘Design & Craft’ nomination.

For Hoang Thanh Tung, who recently earned his bachelor’s degree at the Institute of International Languages - Vietnam National University, the decision to pursue a Master’s degree in the Faculty of Business and Management at HSE is in some ways a homecoming. Although coming most recently from Hanoi, Vietnam, he was born in Russia and spent much of his time growing up in the country, living with his parents in both Moscow and Ufa.
