Comment: Some of the wooden steps on our back exterior stairs (the ones we use most often) have become mis-connected (come loose), creating dangerous situation. I have made a temporary fix by nailing them to their underneath structure, but I worry that they are not safe. Perhaps, all the steps should be replaced with treated or better "plastic" wood steps and heavily screwed to the underneath structure, which seems to be fine. Also, the leading edge of the back porch floor, where one takes their first step down the stairs has also come loose, and it will not take a nail for some reason.
