Wonderful cabinets, affordable price, no surprises. We hired Rangel Cabinets for an unexpected and unplanned kitchen reno of our 1960’s home. Of the three bids we received, they offered the most quality product and were the lowest priced. The other bids were for MDF doors as opposed to Rangels’ solid wood doors and wood cabinets. They also had more options for style, wood and colors. I was skeptical at first because of the lack of online reviews and because their representative, Pedro, seemed so young. I was immediately impressed though with his ability to redefine a space that was very dysfunctional in a matter of minutes. The very next day, he had a computer model of the space and was able to give us an accurate visualization of what it would look like. To alleviate our anxiety about the lack of online reviews, I called all the references Pedro gave and we visited the workshop. If you’ve ever hired a contractor in Houston, you know you can never be too safe. All the referrals had wonderful things to say about the work and the crew and recommended them highly. I opted to keep all the appliances where they originally were, at first. After seeing the space demo’d and understanding the ease of moving a water line and outlets, I changed my mind and opted for what Pedro had originally suggested and I’m so much happier with the flow now. The entire job, including complete demolition, was going to take approximately 6 weeks. With me changing the layout and adding some extra work, it only added 2 weeks. With the original layout, we were going to get a custom corner cabinet. Since we decided to change it, we lost that cabinet but we gained a wonderful spice cabinet pull-out and a cabinet pull-out with dividers for large trays and baking sheets that we didn’t even expect but are very pleased with. Even though we decided to get rid of approximately 10 cabinets (2 peninsulas), we gained more usable cabinet and counter space than we need with the reconfiguration. The counters were purchased through Rangels’ contact and we decided to upgrade from granite to quartz because the cost was incredibly reasonable. The cabinets themselves are beautiful, solid and extremely well made. The paint job was flawless with so much attention to caulking and sealing that we hired them to paint trim in other areas of the house. With every renovation, there are always things that aren’t “just right”. This job was no different except that whatever needed tweaking or changing was done without question and until we were satisfied. Since we live in an older home, we’re accustomed to finding surprises. Pedro pointed out the sag in a large area of our kitchen ceiling, some joists and wall studs the previous owners’ handyman decided weren’t necessary and had cut like a moron. Rangel sistered and reinforced the joists and studs and their drywall work blends with our existing texture without any noticeable difference. They also added insulation to an outside wall and saved our ceiling blow-in insulation, thereby, saving us some money. The crew was very respectful of our home. They always locked up and set the alarm when leaving and didn’t damage any other part of our home, unlike other contractors. We opted to have the plumbing and electrical inspected and fixed by our own preferred electrician and plumber we already have a well established relationship with. We absolutely love our kitchen now. Rangel went above and beyond our expectations, Pedro was always available and easy to reach and look forward to getting Rangel to build a mobile island that we’ll use as an extra prep area and bar.

This family run business was excellent. They finished the job in a very reasonable time. Their workmanship was AMAZING. They made certain the everything was the way we wanted before they left. We initially hired them to do our kitchen cupboards and to install crown molding in the kitchen. After seeing the crown molding in the kitchen and dining room, we had them do the whole house!!!!!
