Reviews of Chicago Kitchen Renovation Companies
Prospect Heights, IL
We had a great experience working with Regency. They demolished the existing kitchen, installed a new floor base, ran electrical, moved plumbing and gas, painted, installed lighting, installed appliances, and laid backsplash tile. One thing I really appreciated was that the crew would ask questions when there was an option on how to do something. If they found something needing fixing, they took care of it. If we found something, they took care of it right away as well. We would definitely use them again for future projects. Our kitchen is updated and gorgeous thanks to Bruce and team!

My wife and I are delighted with the kitchen remodel that Regency just completed for us. Regency has the resources of a large firm, yet shows a level of flexibility, focus, and commitment to customer satisfaction that frankly amazed us. From first to last, Bruce Pinsler and his team demonstrated expertise, commitment, care, and integrity. We had long postponed this project, daunted by its complexity and by the difficulty of finding high quality yet affordable contractors on the North Shore. Regency was literally an answer to our prayers. For planning, skill, politeness, character, and commitment, A+. Here are a few specific examples: From the beginning Mr. Pinsler worked within the amount we said we could afford. He outlined what was and wasn't possible for that amount, and worked collaboratively and creatively with us to produce results that far exceeded our expectations. Regency's workers were polite, efficient, considerate, and highly skilled. When toward the end one GFI electrical component turned out to be defective, one worker, Alfred, came twice after hours to secure replacement parts and to work until the problem was resolved, We would use Regency again, and are grateful that we found the company through this Home Improvement website.

Regency did great work and and Bruce was very reliable. They did the work quickly with high quality. Very polite workers that knew how to do numerous types of jobs. I would recommend this company and will use them again.

Chicago Kitchen Remodels
Kitchen remodeling is one of the most popular home improvement projects in the nation for a very simple reason: it pays off. Not only does it make your home more functional, it adds value to your property in a way that few other projects can. In Chicago, kitchen remodeling is a fantastic choice when you're looking to both increase efficiency and boost the desirability of you home, as well. When you look at the statistics, Chicago kitchen remodels are simply a better investment than other improvement projects in the area, and generally recover more of the initial construction costs in added resale value than similar jobs in other cities!
Minor Renovation
In some cases, a property might not be best suited to complete kitchen remodeling. Chicago homes that are relatively old are extremely good candidates for a few minor upgrades. It is said that, in the world of real estate, upgrading something classic to fit in with modern living is one of the most profitable jobs you can enter into. By keeping many of the existing components of an older house intact, but increasing its function and adding a few contemporary items, smaller Chicago kitchen remodels are appealing to two things that most homeowners prize: a sense of history and the best of modern convenience. Holding on to original craftsmanship, but replacing old plumbing and wiring might be just the thing to set you home apart from both historic properties, and new constructions alike.
Major Remodeling
When dealing with a property that is simply too "lived in" to be restored properly, your best option might be overhaul-type kitchen remodeling. Chicago homes that require this degree of attention are basically a blank slate, as they probably need some serious work in other areas like bed and bathrooms, too. Here, it is important to spend your money where it will do the most good, and have the most noticeable results. While increasing storage space in a bedroom is never a bad idea, if it comes down to deciding between a walk-in closet that isn't really on display and putting in a new tile floor in the kitchen to replace the linoleum that's falling apart, the choice should be obvious.
It is key, however, to make sure that no one room gets all of the attention. Though no one will scoff at a completely redone kitchen, a bathroom left untouched aside from a new shower curtain might look pretty paltry next to it. You may want to focus a bit more on an area that will truly benefit from the added work, but make sure that the rest of the property can at least look good enough to not appear out of place.
Prices
Minor kitchen remodels in Chicago have an average cost of just less than $20,000. Major renovations, on the other hand, are closer to $62,000 on average. If you're looking for something really high end, it is likely that you'll need to spend more than $100,000. The good news is that a portion of these costs are added directly to the resale value of your property, and will, in some cases, be the difference in selling a house quickly for an agreeable price, and having the property on the market for an extended period. Remember, sometimes less really is more. The average upscale Chicago kitchen remodel makes back about 85 percent of its construction costs in resale value, while a minor remodel often recovers closer to 93 percent!
