Admission Process at a Glance


UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES: BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (B. TECH.)

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

The minimum academic qualification for admission to B.Tech. program is, as per Govt. of Rajasthan Rules, a pass with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to “SC/ST/Non creamy layer OBC/ Non creamy layer SBC” of Rajasthan state) in the subjects combination as given below taken together, in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) of Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan / Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

 

Subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech. courses shall be as Physics & Mathematics as Compulsory Subjects and any one of the optional Subjects out of the following:  (1) Chemistry (2) Bio-technology (3) Computer Science (4) Biology (5) Technical Vocational Subject

 

For further eligibility criteria like domicile requirements, medical fitness, reservation of seats, etc. the candidate must refer to the information brochure of admission bodies as mentioned in the admission process. The eligibility criteria given in these only shall be final and binding.

 

Admission Process:

Admissions in B.Tech. courses for all seats (including 15% seats in Self-Financed courses for outside Rajasthan students on the basis of JEE Mains score and TFWS seats) are through centralized counselling by the Government of Rajasthan. This year the admission shall be done through the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP-2016) conducted by the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota. In REAP, admissions shall be on the basis of JEE (Mains) Score. For further information, the prospective students are advised to visit the website of RTU (www.rtu.ac.in) and should not contact the college authorities.

 

Eight (8) seats in B. Tech (Agricultural Engineering) are filled by Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) for which invitation of applications, counselling and admissions shall be done by ICAR.

 

•Admissions for all seats in undergraduate programs are done by corresponding admission bodies like REAP or ICAR.

 

•The college has no management quota in any of the programs.

 

•The prospective students must look for advertisement in newspapers and keep visiting the websites of the admission bodies for further information.

 

•They should not contact the college authorities for the likely date of admission and other such information that can only be provided by these admission bodies.

POST GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

The candidates must have passed the qualifying degree (as mentioned in the academic programs) from recognized University with following minimum marks or OGPA:

 2. Ph.D. 65% marks (or OGPA of 6.50/10.00)
 3. M.B.A. (Tech.) 55% marks or equivalent

 

Relaxation (5%) for SC/ST/OBC/SBC shall be admissible as per rules.

 

Sponsored Candidates:

The in-service candidates with minimum of two years of full-time work experience in responsible capacity in a Registered Firm/ Company/ Industry/ Educational and Research Institution/ Govt./ Quasi Govt./ Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought can be considered under sponsored category if they are sponsored by their employer and fulfil the conditions as per university set rules/ norms. 

 

In case of candidates from Industry, the Firm/Company/Industry shall either be a public sector undertaking or a public limited company registered in a stock exchange or a private concern whose annual turnover during the past two years exceeds Rs.5 crores. Further, the Industry sponsored candidates shall be required to pay a higher fees of 1.25 times the normal fees. The Educational Institution should be recognized by AICTE/ICAR.

 

Letter of appointment and Form-16 for two years of service is required from the employer and must invariably be attached with the application form. In addition, the candidate must submit an undertaking that he/she will continue to submit Form- 16 for the subsequent years till he / she completes the programme.

 

Admission Process:

The admissions to the PG programs are made on the basis of merit (calculated as per university rules) and personal interview/Group discussion (for MBA). It is mandatory to be physically present for personal interview on counselling dates. The merit score has weightage for experience and a valid GATE score (for admissions to M.Tech.). The candidate must have completed all the requirements of the qualifying degree on the last date of application.

 

The applications for admissions to PG programs are invited by the college in the end of May or beginning of June every year. The prospective students must be on the lookout for the advertisement in the newspapers and keep visiting the college website for more information during this period.
