Best Mexican in SF.
I reserved the patio for a large group for Sunday brunch and the staff were great about hosting us. The brunch portions are small but very affordable and delicious! Looking forward to hosting another event there.
Very popular place; reservation is recommended. Warm welcome, very good food, creative use of a small space to create a companionable and tasty experience.
Always love this restaurant. The food is tasty and fresh, particularly enjoy the chilindrinas and the chicharrones. Plus the service is always exceptional. The vibe is casual and not too hipster which is great considering it's in the heart of the Mission district. Highly recommend!!!
verdes enchiladas were amazing
My husband and son went to the restaurant and brought me back a meal. The food was amazing and was some of the best Mexican we've had.
regalito is on our regular list of favorites, been coming here for years. the food is consistently good and the staff warm and friendly. eduardo especially is the heart of regalito. comfort food at its best! we love regalito!! it's a small family-owned business -- it's places like this that make san francisco special and unique. support your local small businesses vs large corporate chains!!
Food was wonderful. We were a group of 8 so we tried many different dishes, each one unique and delicious. The service was excellent, warm, friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back.
Food and ambiance were amazing but meal seemed a little overpriced. Our party of 6 ate family-style which was a great choice since we were able to taste a little of all the dishes we ordered.
It's more 2.5 stars than 2.0, but they don't offer star fractions. While the service & setting was very nice, I felt the food was pretty uneventful for the Mission... especially for the price. Their house-made corn tortillas were good, but was surprised that their fish tacos used Tilapia. At $17 (for (3) tacos) a better choice of fish, vs. questionably farmed, would have made better sense.
The other sad note was the chocolate "dipping" sauce for their churros. It was SOOOO watery & flavorless, a cup of coffee would have been a thicker & more flavorful alternative. Don't order it... unless you don't care about the quality of your hot chocolate. Better to just walk over to Dandelion.
The guacamole & sangria weren't too bad, but again... just okay for the price. Perhaps there are other dishes that fair much better and that they're known for... but, sadly, the ones we had just don't inspire a return.
The pollo con mole is one of the best dishes in SF. The staff is so nice as well. Recommend sitting at the communal table on the back patio.
Very very good food and wine. Relaxed atmosphere. Truly high end Latin food.
We were looking for something different. Surprised by how great the restaurant is
delicious food in a cozy ambience. very nice family owned restaurant.
Delicious food and wonderful service. It never disappoints.
Excellent authentic Mexican food. The chicken enchiladas were our favorite
We love the food and homey atmosphere here! The chicken in special sauce is superb, as are the homemade chips. My husband loves the pork shoulder. We introduced friends to Regalito the other night, and they were delighted as well — loved the combo taco plate.
Always reliable food. Always friendly staff. The rear patio is always popular at any time if the year.
Delicious mexican food and margaritas. Family owned restaurant :)
Service was kinda lacking for the most part when the restaurant got busier. Not sure if they are understaffed. Had to flag down server several times to get stuff. Food was pretty good for the most part especially the churros.
Not sure about the great reviews. I found the food to be mediocre, at best. Nothing special in terms of taste, offerings or presentation. Great atmosphere and we were able to talk and have a conversation. Laissez-faire waiter who could seem to care less. We both had bad stomach problems after the meal, although this has no bearing on my review of the food. Just not good.
It was fine... I wasn't really blown away by anything. I thought it was a little overpriced for what we got and the portions were small. We were still hungry after so we got burritos at a cheaper Mexican restaurant nearby.
Great Service, Great Food . Have an early dinner. Place is small gets crowed.
Get the chicken — it’s moist and super flavorful. Service was also attentive and friendly. Sit outside to see the cute little zen garden out back!
Great service, friendly staff, extremely accommodating and Amazing food! Everything we had was delicious. I'd Definitely recommend if you're looking for authentic home cooked Mexican cuisine.
Nice atmosphere and neighborhood, food was great except the portion(too large for me)
Great Mexican food - my husband said it was the best meal he’s had In America, and we’ve been living here for 2 years!
Really enjoyed the pollo con mole. I went there with my visiting co-workers but I have been craving their food since and I think I will go back soon by myself!
Very good food and great prices :)
Great people, tasty food, nice atmosphere on the patio
The absolute best warm soft corn tortillas I have ever had. Delicious!
Deliciously authentic Mexican food!
I want to like this place, but there is so much great food in the city I would rather go somewhere else. The food isn't bad, but it could use more seasoning (salt while cooking), both in the guac, the entrees, and the rice/beans. The food is completely decent, but a bit pricey for what you get. The ambiance is a bit strange because when we went the place was largely empty, but a few solitary young children would eat alone at empty tables.
Very, very good Mexican food. We experienced intense favors not encountered before. Definitely will be going back.
We had a dinner date here last Friday. I made a reservation for 5:45pm, but showed up around 5:20pm. Thankfully they sat us early, and we were the only people in the restaurant. The decor is very welcoming. We ordered a carafe of agave margaritas. It seems they only have a beer and wine license as the margaritas did not taste at all like margaritas. For $32, it was a bit high for the taste. We had a handful of starters, as we couldn't decide a main course. We had the pork taquitos, the guacamole y tostadas, and finally the chicharrones with fresh tortillas. I've had so many taquitos in my life, I know a good one when I taste it...and these were FANTASTIC. The guac was about a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. It needed lots of salt. But the chicharrones were truly the star of the night. My husband was in heaven and we contemplated ordering a second round, but we wanted dessert. I ordered the flan and he ordered the Tres Leches cake with strawberries. We were very happy. We never order dessert, so we were very happy they had something we wanted and loved.
Overall, this is a cute little upscale Mexican place. Good for a date night, and as a local Mission restaurant. I don't think we'll return with all the other places in the City - but then again, we never tried an entree. That Mole Chicken is calling my name!
Great authentic Mexican food; very good friendly service; homemade tortillas to die for
Still my favorite place in the city! The food is amazing and Francisco is top notch!
Everything was delicious.
Excellent service and food. Homemade corn tortillas were delicious.
Really a gem! Very friendly staff, charming restaurant. The homemade tortillas were outstanding as was the carnitas.
