In order to integrate with Microsoft SharePoint, Kaspersky Security for SharePoint Server uses the SharePoint Object Model provided by Microsoft. Kaspersky Security for SharePoint Server uses the SharePoint Object Model in compliance with SharePoint SDK documentation.

For on-access checks, Kaspersky Security for SharePoint Server integrates with SharePoint via VSAPI, an interface developed by Microsoft specifically for SharePoint anti-virus checks. The product does not use SharePoint databases directly, nor does it introduce any changes to them, such as stored procedures, table schema, triggers, etc.
