Comment: I have a roof leak. It leaks only during heavy rain. (Recent rain has gotten a lot of water on the ceiling in the house) The problem appears to be one of the sewer vent stacks. A roofing contractor walked my roof looking for a leak area or roof damage and didn't find a need to replace the shingles. I had suspected that the vent flashing was not properly fitted around the vent stack. He determine that the flashing was properly installed. We put a water hose down the stack over the leak area. In just a few minutes the water appeared on the ceiling again. He thinks the stack has come apart just under the roof line. He said he has seen this problem on one other house. Do you have the tools/equipment (camera) to confirm this is the problem?
