Comment: My air conditioner seems to be working fine, but, every so often, the central fan in my house stops working, so no cold air blows through my vents. I can fix this by turning on the heat briefly until the fan starts up, and then turning on the air conditioner again once it does. I'm pretty sure this is not a good "fix". After I turn the heat on, water drips into my basement: I'm pretty sure the pipes are freezing over and then melting once I turn the heat on.

Comment: Swamp cooler thermostat temperature controller works manually but not automatically anymore. I have to manually turn off or on when too cold or too hot. Current thermostat is 20 years old! Had new swamp cooler installed last month. I would like advice on in-line water filter - do I need since I have whole-house Culligan service. Also, I would like to know what my options are for a fresh water dump pump. I used to have one that provided fresh water every 8-12 hours of continuous operation, however, my swamp cooler never runs that long continuously. I don't want stagnant water.
