Comment: I am looking at possibly purchasing a property in the Boston area that is a basement level unit. The basement has a history of flooding and currently has standing water in it. There is also likely mold as this problem has persisted from some time. I am looking for someone to do a site visit to help assess what are the possible causes of the leak, where the leak may be originating, what solutions may exist to fix the problem, and what the cost to repair could be. On top of considering the contractor for completing the work of course, I would also compensate the contractor for their time ($100/hour) in case I do not proceed with the purchase.

Comment: Faulty down spout elbow is failing and it's in a tight place. Water seeping into the ground is now leaking through the foundation. Comment: I'm a real estate agent looking for help for my client. We were about to close on a condo on Beacon St in Back Bay and during the walkthrough we noticed about 1 foot of water in the basement. The property management company said that this had happened 3 years ago and that its ground water from the high water table in Back Bay. They poured hydraulic cement which helped for a while, but after 3 years its back again. My client is looking for someone with experience in working in Back Bay with this type of situation to go in and assess the problem and give their opinion as to whether this appears to be a major problem or if it is something you've seen before and can be fixed.
