Reviews of Atlanta Sod Installers
Norcross, GA
We are very pleased with the newly installed Zoysoid sod in the front yard. It is green and weed free. HillScapes Lawn & Landcare not only gave the best estimate, but also did a great quality job; Graham & his crew listened to our need and came up a solution. Throughout the project he did everything throughly in spraying out the existing weed, tilling, grading, fertilizing, and installing. He even did an extra work fixing the sprinkler. Since the installation he has followed up regarding the watering and the sod that he took pride to install. We would recommend to anyone who needs landscape services.

We are still waiting to see if the seed took. I thought their communication and budget were good. When job is completed I will update this rating. Thanks.

Delivered and installed as promised. Excellent job on installation of sod. Seams are very tight and ground very level. The sod has rooted and stayed green in the 12 days since installation. I am very pleased.

Ideas & Inspiration from Atlanta Landscaping Companies
Atlanta Sod Installation
Atlanta is one of the largest cities in the southeastern United States, with an estimated population of about 447,000 people. It also has one of the largest metropolitan areas in the entire country, with more than 5.5 million people residing in the outlying areas. From high-rise condos to ranch-style houses to large estates, the housing choices are just as diverse as the people living there.
Located in the southeastern region, Atlanta is known for its hot and humid summers. Temperatures in the summer often exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. This climate comes from a combination of 217 days of sunshine and an average of 54 inches of rain per year. However, winters are not very harsh. The low temperatures in winter rarely get below freezing and snow is not a common sight.
After purchasing a house in the Atlanta area, many homeowners take the time to beautify the lawn and outdoor space. Sod is one way to get a plush lawn without having to wait for grass seeds to grow. Because of the warm weather, there are several varieties of grass that look stunning all year long.
Local Sod Installation Project Costs
Several factors affect the price of sod installation. The type of grass, size of the yard, and amount of prep work necessary all contribute to the total cost of the project. On average, homeowners can expect to spend between $845 and $4,520 for sod installation in Atlanta, with the national average being $1,712.
Licensing and Insurance Requirements
Landscapers in Georgia are required to hold a few different licenses in order to perform the duties of their jobs. If the landscaper also sells sod, they are required to have Nursery Dealer's License from the Georgia Department of Agriculture. If they use any pesticides to keep pests at bay, they are required to have a Commercial Pesticide Applicator's License. Additionally, landscapers and sod installers must carry general liability insurance when performing projects for others.
Other Projects to Consider
When installing sod in a yard, homeowners should also consider installing an irrigation system. This reduces the amount of time it takes each day to care for the lawn, and can also help reduce water costs if installing an efficient model.
Atlanta Neighborhood Information
While the options for living in the city mostly include high-rise condos and apartment buildings, there are several neighborhoods that offer single family homes in quiet areas.
- Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. Its history shows in the architecture of the houses and other buildings in the neighborhood. A fire in the early 1900s destroyed much of the area, but it saw a huge revitalization in the 1980s.
- Those looking for quiet without leaving the city can find peace in Ormewood Park and Glenwood Park. The residents are as diverse as the houses in these neighborhoods. People living here range from young professionals to families with small children. Homes range from historic Craftsman-style homes and brick bungalows to shining new construction.
- Alpharetta, located just north of Atlanta, is one of the city's hottest suburbs. People move from across the country to enjoy all that Alpharetta has to offer. Because of its popularity, there is no shortage of new construction of single-family homes. The town was designed for the outdoors, with swimming and hiking available in Wills Park.
- Another suburb to the north of Atlanta that many people choose to live in is Dunwoody. It is just over a 20-minute commute to the city, so residents can enjoy all that the city has to offer while being able to retreat to a quiet suburb at the end of the day. The town has a mix of luxury condos and single-family homes situated on large lots.
- Kennesaw is situated a little bit farther away from the city, but those shopping for homes will get more house and more property for their dollar. The suburb is popular for families and nature lovers. It has a low crime rate, high-ranked schools, and several outdoor activities for all of its residents.
