If the cost to repair or replace is more than $150., then it pays to install a new window air conditioner or portable air conditioner. Â This will cool much better than a new fan, although it will generate a much higher electric bill.

I'll dig out my paperwork on the old fan (15 yr.) and find one of the same quality and purchase.
Then hire a pro to replace.
