What caused the issue?
Conventional water heaters are relatively simple and straightforward in the way that they operate, so there are only a few different things that can malfunction.. Cold water enters the tank and is heated by an electric element or gas burner. As the water heats, pressure builds inside the tank. When you turn on a tap, pressure sends hot water out the faucet. If you fail to get hot water when you turn on your faucet, it could be as simple as a pilot light being out, a circuit breaker being tripped, or a broken thermostat. Another possibility is that the heating element itself is broken or faulty. Repairing or replacing any of those parts is relatively simple and inexpensive. my water heater needed to be replaced - $1150. Also, there was need for a pressure relief valve - $250 - total cost $1400.. way higher than the $1200 max in the initial cost chart. Admittedly it was replaced not repaired. To be honest there should be an additional chart showing the costs of replacement along with the percentage of repairs which wind up being replacements to give us a true cost range

Can I drain my water heater while the water still warm or hot?so I can get rid of the bad smell when my water heater is on hot its smell don't like the smell when I take a bath or wash dish's or brush teeth hope I can get rid of this smell with out paying to much to fix.

got someone to replace the faulty gas valve on my 50 gal water. they are not finished yet so I don't have a price but they do charge $80.00 per hour. The water heater was still under warranty but I did have to pay $30.00 for overnight shipping for the part. I'm hoping to get a senior discount. So far they have been working on it for 2 hours. The company is Pro Kleen Affordable Services. I have used them in the past and was pleased. Only downfall is they do not accept credit cards!
