Also depending on the project, it might be better to hire a land surveyor.

Your hourly rates for architects and engineers are way low for Westside of Los Angeles, where we have complex and changing building and planning codes and high contruction and housing costs.  Architects are $80-200 an hour. Engineers are $150-$300 and hour.  Both often have lower cost associates who work with them on more routine tasks, so the average hourly cost might be lower.
