Comment: We have a 300-400 foot length of stucco wall behind 4 homes in our subdivision. When it was originally built the bottom 3 feet of the wall was not completed (no wallboard). This was because there was a wooden fence directly on the other side of our wall so that the unfinished lower part of our wall wouldn't show. Now a proposal is to take down the wooden wall because it is falling down. At that point our unfinished wall will be exposed. Comment: Under 3 roof peaks, 3 wood beams extend approx. 3 ft. from vertical walls. Over 40 yrs, beams deteriorated requiring encapsulation with wood veneer. Handyman installed veneer (manufactured press board) last fall -- used nail gun and glue to fasten. Over winter, fasteners have failed - open joints - top boards warped. Needs refastening, joints caulked - possibly veneer replacement with wood product. Most difficult to reach is 18-20 ft high - but easy to reach with heavy duty extension ladder. A second beam - over garage door is approx. 12 ft. high. The 3rd beam extends over a slightly inclined roof section - can be worked by sitting on this roof section. Why don't I do it -- after reaching my 80th birthday, I promised my wife I won't climb ladders or work on the roof.
