Phoenix Flooring Tile

It's hard to find a home that doesn't have some type of tile installation. In Phoenix, bathroom tile is often the lifeline of floors and bathtubs, among others. Carpet doesn't work for bathroom flooring; solid shell shower stalls are expensive. Whether you're looking to remodel your bathroom on a budget, have been trying to replace that ugly linoleum floor for years, or simply love the look and feel of tile, it's no surprise you've looked at this quality material for your next home improvement project.

Tiles for Bathrooms
Bathroom tile can be used to its maximum advantage in several ways. First, larger floor tiles can make a small bathroom feel more spacious, although you'll need a minimum of three tiles in each direction. The number of finishes and available colors has also expanded in recent years, allowing for bolder decorating options. Colored grout is also a great idea to reduce the affect of dirt and grime that accumulates between the tiles.

You should also think about where the best place is for your bathroom tile in Phoenix. Though tile is in nearly every single home, tiling for your floor, counter, wall, and bathtub is probably overkill. Different sized and colored tiles can create a dynamic look, but you should be careful in the way that you mix and match different tiles to avoid any decorating faux pas. At the same time, using the same tiles in your bathtub or walls for a floor tile border is one great way to tie everything together.

Flooring Tile
Stone tile has taken a backseat to ceramic and porcelain tile recently, as improved finishing and lower costs have allowed ceramic tile to grab more and more of the market share. For bathroom tile, in particular, ceramic tile may be best as stone tile is more susceptible to water and moisture. That said, stone tile does have some advantages that may make it better for your flooring tile in Phoenix. Flooring tile, even in bathrooms, tends to take more abuse of all kinds than other tiling applications. While ceramic is better for wet environments, it's also more likely to chip or crack. If you are going to install ceramic tile, it's better to upgrade to a denser, more durable porcelain tile and find one that has color that goes through the entire tile. Stone tile also has a tighter grout setting making it easier to maintain.

Cost of Tile
Tile installation can mean many different things including previously discussed flooring, walls, showers, and countertops. Each project has a specific component and, thus, various cost estimates. You might be able install a small bathroom counter or wall backsplash for as little as a few hundred dollars. Shower stalls or flooring tends to range closer to two or three thousand dollars and only go up from there. A large kitchen floor with a high-end tiling material or some type of multi-installation tiling project can even break the $10,000 mark. For small or moderate sized tiling installation, the difference between ceramic and stone tiles may be only $100 or $200, but as the project size increases, you can see more substantial differences.

Tiling Contractors
No matter what tiling material you select, or area(s) of your home you're working on, HomeAdvisor can put you in touch with some best Phoenix tiling contractors out there. Each and every contractor in our database is put through a rigorous 10-step screening process, an important step as the pool of quality contractors across the home improvement industry seems to decline every year. Moreover, we give you access to quality-controlled online customer ratings and reviews. Through our system you'll still be able to solicit multiple estimates. Be wary of estimates that are substantially lower or higher than the rest, and keep in mind that there is no substitute for your gut intuition.

Comment: I have a pallet of 6"x40" porcelain wood plank style tile. I have 3 bedrooms that currently have prego flooring (pops right off) Transition strips have some liquid nail underneath to hold them down (must be removed). They all have ceramic baseboards which will stay in place and must not be broken. 1st room 10'x10', 2nd room 10'x11', 3rd room 15'x12'. Would like this done one room at a time if possible, up for discussion. Depends on how efficient the installer is. I had a quote for 2.75 a sq ft from Erik tile back in February, something came up and I was unable to move forward. I would like to start this anytime after July 1st, and I will need notice so I can take time off work to empty rooms of small items. Larger furniture must be moved by installer.
