Reviews of Washington Bathroom Remodelers

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Clinton, MD

Tony, the contractor, was great and he knew how to do so much. Overall, the company is good, but they rushed the contractor to finish.

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Arlington, VA

Evergreen Contractors' bathroom renovation program is a great opportunity for homeowners who don't want to hire an interior designer but want to be involved, assisted by design and building professionals, in designing their own home renovation. The project manager arranged extensive two hour meetings with in-house designers at three suppliers for bathroom fixtures, cabinets and counters and tile work. The job cost for labor was separated from the cost of fixtures and materials so that one could determine what fit in to the overall budget. The install team was professional and quick to solve any issues that arose during construction.

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Arlington, VA

All work was completed as promised, and within the time requested. All workers were punctual, polite and professional. They maintained communication with us, even demonstrating flexibility by allowing us to make a minor change after the work had commenced. We were especially impressed with Alex, who seemed very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the job.

Ideas & Inspiration from Washington Addition & Remodeling Contractors

Remodeling a Bathroom in Washington, DC

In Washington DC, bathroom remodeling is a surefire way to increase your home's property value, while making it a nicer place to live, as well. Along with kitchens, bathrooms are one of the most highly scrutinized areas when selling a house, and a little work can do wonders for prospective buyers. If you are planning on staying in your current house for a while, there are also several good reasons to update a bathroom that is no longer functioning as well as it could. While Washington DC bathroom remodels are quite varied in size, scope, and style, there are a few things that go into every successful project. By understanding the ins and outs of bathroom renovation, Washington DC residents will have a better chance at getting the type of remodel they want at a price that fits their budget.

High-End Washington DC Bathroom Remodels
If money is not a problem, the sky's the limit when it comes to bathroom remodeling. Washington DC homeowners who wish to create a top of the line bathroom space will have a lot of options; home spas, separate bathtub and shower stalls, sunken tubs, and many other installations quickly come to mind, but you contractor will no doubt be able to offer you even more. In DC's more affluent neighborhoods, luxury bathrooms can certainly be a selling point, but for the average homeowner, this kind of makeover is probably way over budget, and a bit impractical, too.

Washington DC Bathroom Remodeling on a Budget
For most homeowners in Washington DC, bathroom renovation is dependent on not just what you want, but what you can afford, as well. Interestingly enough, less expensive bathroom remodels tend to recover more of their construction costs than high end renovations when it comes time to sell. If you live in a middle of the road neighborhood, spending an arm and a leg on an ultra luxurious bathroom might even make selling your home more difficult!

Functional Washington DC Bathroom Remodeling
In most cases, the facets of Washington DC bathroom remodels that make the most sense are those that enhance looks and increase function. While replacing something simply because it doesn't suit your taste is the prerogative of every homeowner, upgrades that not only look better, but work better as well, are the most effective. For example, replacing a bathroom window that has been stuck shut for decades is probably going to be a better investment than replacing a sink that is simply the wrong color. Each job will, of course, have certain individual upgrades that will make marked improvements as well as those that will be more for show; by talking with an experienced contractor before the work begins, you're a lot more likely to identify the best areas to enhance and the best ones to leave as is.

Aesthetic Washington DC Bathroom Remodeling
For some homeowners in and around Washington DC, bathroom remodeling is more a form than function related task. Again, a bathroom that doesn't waste water and functions well overall is probably not as in need of an upgrade as one that does, but there is a time and place for aesthetic-based bathroom remodeling. Washington DC is home to many older properties, and these structures typically show their age more in the bathroom than anywhere else.

Modern homebuyers like bathrooms that feel open and clean, something that is difficult to find in bathroom spaces planned several decades ago. Old, dull tile and stained grout are relatively easy to replace (and even cheaper to polish), which can make a huge difference in how your bathroom feels. Resurfacing sinks and tubs and replacing out-of-date or worn counters can also go a long way in Washington DC bathroom remodels, but if you have the funds, adding a few square feet to a cramped bathroom is an option that will give you (as well as prospective homebuyers) a sense of luxury, even if there are no high-end materials to speak of.

Washington DC Bathroom Remodeling Prices
As you might imagine, the price varies considerably between one job to another. Most homeowners across the country will pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 to $15,000 for bathroom remodeling. Washington DC homeowners can expect their total costs to be somewhere in the same range for a typical bathroom remodel (though we've seen some for as little as $4,000 and a couple for as much as $25,000). Some might attempt to handle a few small facets of the job themselves, and for experienced DIYs who are well aware of what bathroom remodeling involves, this is certainly an option. For those with less experience, the job might be a little much; as one homeowner in Fredericksburg told us, "I started the work myself, thinking I could handle the project. I should have left it to the pros from the beginning."
