Reviews of Baltimore Bathroom Remodelers

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Baltimore, MD

We hired them for a small project, to repair a part of a tiled wall and a window in a bathroom. The work was done well and fast. The problems found afterwards: some small things they did not finish though were going to: trim not finished, the cleanup was not so good. Also they scratched a washer that is standing near the remodeled space and completely spoiled the lid of the toilet by scratching it, we have to get a new one, which is not a problem of money but costs time.

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Owings Mills, MD

We contracted with John Sanza to remodel our two bathrooms. John came to the house as scheduled to review the project and make some excellent suggestions. He promised to have the project completed in about one week. Always, when you have a stranger in your home doing work, you have concerns. Upon meeting John, we had no concerns whatsoever and after his first day on the job, we were amazingly pleased. Of course, once you get started on a project there are other minor things that you see. These were pointed out to John and without a second thought he took care of them. The job is now done and completed in less time than promised. We are

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Glen Burnie, MD

KER did two bathrooms for us. One involved installing a custom shower and one was a total redo. All work was completed in the timeframe expected. Kraig, the owner, met with us daily to go over the progress and the day's expectations. Any concerns were addressed immediately and all processes were explained thoroughly. The budget was kept to & we are very pleased with the work. After the bathrooms were completed we hired KER do a front porch for us which also turned out wonderfully.

Ideas & Inspiration from Baltimore Addition & Remodeling Contractors

Remodeling a Bathroom in Baltimore

With urban renewal sweeping through Baltimore's old neighborhoods and the continued growth of the suburbs outside the city, homeowners throughout the Baltimore metro area are on the hunt for smart home improvements that add to their quality of life and increase the value of their homes. When it comes to remodeling projects that pay for themselves, bathroom remodeling in Baltimore continues to retain its stranglehold at the top of the list. It doesn't matter whether you're in a row house in Charles Village or live in a new housing development out in Baltimore County, Baltimore bathroom remodels continue to be one of the best investments in Crabtown.

Baltimore Bathroom Remodeling Costs
Besides being a proven remodeling project when it comes to returns on your investment, bathroom remodeling in Baltimore is also popular because of its low cost relative to other remodeling options. HomeAdvisor provides contractor referrals to thousands of Baltimoreans each year on a wide range of home improvement projects, and we follow up on each one of those projects by requesting a little feedback from homeowners about how things turned out. For Baltimore bathroom renovation costs the data speaks for itself. At an average of just over $9,000 per remodeling project, Baltimore bathroom remodels are much more reasonable than kitchens (the other remodeling giant), with comparable savings close to $10,000. Though our highest recorded Baltimore bathroom renovation comes in at $15,000, jobs that end up running as little as $4,000 to $5,000 aren't uncommon, making bathroom remodels one of the most affordable remodeling projects across the board.

What to Expect with Baltimore Bathroom Remodeling and Timelines
As you've probably already figured out, one of the big reasons bathroom remodeling costs undercut other major remodels is because bathrooms are generally smaller in scale than remodeling a kitchen, building on a major addition, or remodeling a basement. Because of that, they also get done far quicker than other remodels. Again drawing from the data we collect from homeowners across the city, you can expect bathroom remodels in Baltimore to take between two weeks to a month. That might sound like a long time without a commode, but its small potatoes when you consider a kitchen remodel can take as long as three months, most of which you'll pass eating chicken boxes and pizzas instead of cooking your own meals.

If you're still hesitant about the down time (and it can be a concern, especially in small row houses with one bathroom), don't forget that your bathroom will only be out of service for a fraction of the total remodeling time. Talking to your contractor about when and how long you'll be without basic services will help you to plan ahead and make other arrangements on days when things will be shut down.

Homeowner Advice about Baltimore Bathroom Remodeling
In an attempt to constantly improve our services, and to help future customers, we finish our customer surveys by asking homeowners if they have any comments they'd like to share about their bathroom renovation in Baltimore, or if there is any advice they'd like to pass onto homeowners considering a bathroom remodel. One homeowner suggested that you "make your design decisions and materials selections before contracting the work," a great idea that helps you get more accurate bids and will streamline the project and help it to move it along faster.

Another had wise advice for any major home improvement project. "Get multiple estimates," the homeowner writes. Though he's quick to caution as well: "remember the best contractor that will offer quality results may not be the cheapest. I went with my instincts and choose the contractor who wasn't the cheapest but that seemed to understand my project and had the most experience. I am very pleased with my choice of contractors and the results."

Generally getting bids from at least 3 contractors is the way to go. And like the homeowner warns, beware of bidders that undercut other estimates by wide margins. Often they're not being entirely above board when it comes to the final reckoning.

Going with Your Instincts
As always, one of the best ways to make your final choice is to go with your instincts, like the gentleman mentioned above chose to do. You want a contractor that appears to know what they're doing, and that seems like one you can trust. Of course, getting your referrals through a referral service like HomeAdvisor, who prescreens contractors and provides customer ratings, can help hone those instincts a little, and trim even more of the risk out of hiring someone to do a bathroom remodeling project in Baltimore. Better to be happy and satisfied with your project than looking back on your bathroom remodeling experience and quoting Edgar Allen Poe's famous raven: "Nevermore."
