Comment: I have a home built in 1875. The attic is an A Frame with 2 X 5 studs and the slop of each wall is about 10 feet from floor to peak. The length of the space is about 27 feet long. So the total area I need insulated is about 540 sq feet. The house does not have a ridge vent nor soffit vents. There has never been an issue with ice dams or leaks so I want to keep it that way, I simply want to get the best R value that is possible without re-framing space and without using spray foam as it is much too costly. Once a vapor barrier is up, I think cellulose may be suitable. I will be adding a facing / finished walls once insulation is in place. I am ready to hire and would like an estimate for the space. The space will be used occasionally as an office, tv room.
