   I am using oxygen theme in by blog and am taking advantage of the "featured" posts option - which allows me to show these posts on the 1st page.

   However, the images take a while to load, causing a bad user experience. Does anyone know what can be cause and how to solve it?

   Firstly link to your blog is not correct.Please fix it.
   you can..
   1.use Lazy load
   2.if you have jetpack install that enable Photon.

   I tried lazy load but it didn't help. BTW, I'm using W3 Total Cache.

   What is the file size of your various images? Are they optimized for web?
