In previous incarnations, John has been an editorial director at Black Enterprise, a staff writer at Fortune magazine, an economic policy reporter at the Wall Street Journal, and a senior editor at U.S. News & World Report. He was also a Markle Fellow at the New America Foundation, where he focused on technology policy and economic opportunity in the digital age. He has discussed his work on The PBS News Hour, CNN, The Fox Network, MSNBC, National Public Radio, and CNBC, where he is a regular contributor. John lives in Montclair, New Jersey, where he enjoys hiking with his wife and daughter, keeping up with the English Premier League, and trying his hand at various home improvement projects.
