As the title says. Have been constructing http://www.makemymerch.co.uk and all the pages created and products saved have become posts.
Also some customisation lost too.

I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce#postform so the plugin's developers and support community can help you with this.
Thank you. Its not just the products, its my normal pages too which have been converted to posts.
Reading through here quite a few people have had the same glitch.
Hm, I didn't run into that problem on any of my sites. What plugins are you using?
1&1 WP Wizard
Contact Form
Envato WordPress Toolkit
Instagram Feed Pro
LayerSlider WP
Limit Login Attempts
MailChimp
Revolution Slider
WooCommerce
WooCommerce Custom Product Tabs Lite
WordPress Importer
Were the lost pages created by anything special involving any of those plugins?
No just the standard pages I created.
http://makemymerch.co.uk/home/
http://makemymerch.co.uk/about-us/
http://makemymerch.co.uk/contact-us/
etc
Now are posts since the update.
Are they still in the Pages section of your Dashboard, or were they moved entirely to the Posts section of your Dashboard?
Pages section now empty and entirely moved to posts.
That's incredibly strange, nothing in the WordPress update would appear to have done that. :(
Do you have a backup prior to the update?
I had a look at the database this afternoon and everything is still in there. I haven't saved anything since so the database is the same as before the update.
I'll find out if there is an auto backup previous to yesterday's update.
The database can't be the same as before if the pages are now posts, unless they were posts all along.
They were definitely pages. Even the sample pages that came with the theme have changed to posts too.
Looking at the woocommerce part of the database that still has all the product variations etc too. But they're now posts as well rather than products.
Ok, this definitely appears to be a known bug now. You can follow along at https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/32051
It looks like a temporary fix is to replace /wp-includes/wp-db.php
with a copy from WordPress 4.1.1 until 4.1.3 is released: https://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/
Ok thank you. Will do that when in the office in the morning and report back.
You're welcome!
Just transfered the new (old) wp-db.php file across and I'm afraid there's no change. Still no pages and all posts.
Ok, try adding the line as depicted in https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/32262/branches/4.1/src/wp-includes/wp-db.php to your wp-db.php file.
Normally, I don't condone hacking core files, but this is the fix that will be in WordPress 4.1.3.
Hello,
I'm also having this exact same problem where all my pages and projects have moved to posts! However, I'm not very good at the technical side of things, and wondering if anyone could please explain to me how to fix this in a simple way?
Many thanks,
Ellen
Have added that code but not change. Deleted the old file first to make sure and that stopped the website working totally. Installed the replacement with that code but pages and products still being treated as posts.
It is the 4.1.2 update, edit a 4.1.1 backup to block updates and restore, all will be well again.
I am doing this now after proving it on an isolated server
Okay great, thank you. Where would I download the old update? As It automatically updated so not sure where to start... (sorry I know I sound simple)
I meant edit your own backup, but if you just need a WP4.1.1 install they are on this site somewhere, you neeed to do this
disable automatic updates in WordPress by adding this line of code in your wp-config.php file:
define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', false );
This will disable all automatic WordPress updates.
ellenlucymiller, to avoid this getting too far off topic, and so we can get back to helping demomaster, please open your own thread: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting#postform
demomaster, the fix will likely be released today. Until then, do you have a backup prior to the 4.1.2 update that you can restore from?
Okay thanks, sorry. I'll try and wait until the fix has been released then. I have no back up as I'm pretty new to all this...
OK. Fortunately its a website under construction so I can wait for the fix.
Shouldn't be long now, just keep your eyes on https://wordpress.org/news/ and/or https://twitter.com/wordpress
WordPress 4.2 was just released. Would you please see if upgrading addresses the issue?
You must log in to post.
