Associate a WordPress Page with the BP Docs Directory

This does not work with me (WP 3.4.2, BP 1.6.1, BP Docs 1.2.1)

If I create a page for the docs and associate it with BP docs on the BP settings page I get nothing on the page. If I name the page ‘Docs’ I get “Page not found…” on the page. This is probably because the link to the docs directory is http://domain.com/docs/

I solved this issue with a custom menu and a link-tab to the directory

This might be ok so far but I want to have a page associated with it because I want to register a sidebar for this page through “BP Sidebar” (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-sidebar/)

Any help to get this associated page would be appreciated!

Yes, this is the right way to do it. There was not supposed to be a way to link Docs with a WP page in the release; it was my mistake that it ended up there. It’ll be removed in 1.2.2.

At the moment, I’m not sure how to ensure compatibility with BP Sidebar. It may be possible, down the road, for me to create a page template that would do the same thing as the /docs/ post type archive. Could I ask you to open a feature request at http://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs/issues?

Why mistake? I think to associate them with a page is no bad idea as for now group independent docs are possible, too..

An associated page would be fine :-)… or a template. Btw. BP Sidebar works with Docs “Started by me” and “Edited by me”

    I’ll do so!

Docs are broken after 1.2.3 update. I am able to edit the docs from the dashboard but when i open the doc url , i get page not found error.
