The sickly red, green and yellow cover lets you know that this will not be your usual Summer Pop compilation. In fact there is nothing bright or poppy anywhere near this. It ranges from heavy to brutal with contributions from Mastodon, Lamb of God and Korn.

This runs a bit heavier than my usual taste but there is no denying the quality of the acts here. There was a particularly good mix of vocal styles in In Due Time by Killswitch Engage, contrasting the vocal fry of modern metal with a more commercial hard rock vocal.

My favourites were Stone Sour's absolutely brilliant Absolute Zero, Anastasia by Slash, Live It Up by the mighty Airbourne, who are to AC DC what Guns and Roses are to Led Zeppelin. The best of of the bunch though was the epic White Trash Millionaire by Black Stone Cherry. Superb.

A nice warm day out, with the sun blazing down, could summer be here? Even if it is just one day and tomorrow rains it doesn't matter, as I now have this to listen to, although ideally you need to be in a car with the windows wound down and this cranked up, or blasting your eardrums with your headphones.

I have so far only listened to this on speakers, but all the tracks seem to be more or less set at the same volume, unlike last years offering. Admittedly everyone is going to have their favourites from this particular album, but in all they are all worth listening to. I would urge anyone if they are thinking of getting this to not procrastinate, last year we were offered a sample album from this record company, and the free availability was for a limited period only, it was eventually priced. So don't delay get this now while it is still free.

....like a typical British summer it offered so much, until I listened to it and it was truly awful - a washout! I am sure people will like it. I just found it awful, it didn't do anything for me - all I can say is thank god it was free!

This is a great little compilation however I can't give it 5 out of 5 as it has Korn on it and I cannot relate to them because I wasn't mugged for my dinner money at school!!

Nice to hear some of the band's for the 1st time I now have more bands that I am interested in

I choose this rating because the tracks in this album are very good, I like them and I like to listen to them over and over.

Great rock music,some of the best music around,would recommend every one to listen to this,good party music.

It just shows what talent is out there, a great mix of styles and some outstanding music, well done RR.

What more can you ask for. Nice to find some new bands from a free sampler.. Keep em coming... Cheers.

Little promotional free playlist samples such as this are great, I found this useful for discovering 2 new bands that I wasn't all that familiar with, Killswitch Engage and Stonesour, apart from that I already had track 5 by Airbourne, probably one of the top tracks on this playlist along with Anastasia by Slash which I didn't already have. Both those come from awesome albums, namely, "Black Dog Barking" and "Apocalyptic Love". Nothing to lose from downloading this playlist...
