Skyrim mods are amazing. In the two months since release, thousands of mods have been released, some of them quite spectacular. It’s not like Skyrim was an ugly game to begin with, but with new high resolution textures and post processing it becomes truly stunning. Not to mention new items, expanded crafting and a full UI overhaul.

With so many mods available, choosing them can be a little daunting, which is why we’ve rounded up the 25 best here for you to enjoy. Check inside for the full list.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – PC Gamer UK’s RPG of the year

The Elder Scrolls games have been brilliant for long time: huge open worlds that let you go wherever you fancy, get wrapped up in hundreds of different stories, and make a life for yourself. But until Skyrim, they weren’t particularly good at one of the most exciting things about other RPGs: levelling up.

Battlefield 3 – PC Gamer UK’s online game of the year

Launch bugs and connection problems can’t dent Battlefield 3’s sense of ambition. Call of Duty might have bagged the ‘modern warfare’ label, but Battlefield 3 shows us what a modern online shooter can really be. Developers DICE have tapped into the potential of modern PCs to create online battles on a massive scale, and with technology that makes its competitors look years out of date.

TOR - Mint Imperials Meetup

Last night, the PC Gamer Mint Imperials united to celebrate the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Sadly I missed it, but Rich and Owen were in attendance as the guild massed on the steps to the Sith Academy on Korriban and posing dramatically. Afterwards they retired to a lightsaber lit rave in the nearby cantina, before streaking through the academy halls like some sort of terrifying Sith fraternity. Apologies to all those new players scared by our mad naked dash across the planet, here’s a Old Republic beginner’s guide to make up for it.

It’s Christmas soon, and everybody’s getting into the spirit, some more than others. CoasterBP certainly took it to extremes when he covered his house with 7,000 computer controlled Christmas lights, but we’re glad he did, because otherwise he wouldn’t have spent his time carefully synchronising them to the Battlefield 3 theme song. Best BABA BA BABAABA ever.

BF3 T-Rex pack

Could Battlefield 2143 be in the works? The hints DICE have left in Back to Karkand are small, but they’ve been known to use similarly cryptic methods before. Of course that means those little toy dinosaurs must be a hint too! We can only assume they’re actually planning to bring us the pictured DLC pack after all. The people have spoken. Dinosaurs must be added.

Our old Minecraft server was a wonderful place, full of amazing constructions. Sadly it was also laggy and unstable, so we were recently forced to hit the big red ‘reset’ button and start over again. Before we did though we created these enormous posters rendering our old spawn area to commemorate it. Better yet, we sent them to Mojang, where Notch and the guys all signed them, just for you. Now here’s your chance to win one!
