5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring book 2 Mar 2011
Format:Hardcover
Being new to growing my own, I eagerly jumped at the chance at this new book. lots of beautiful vibrant pictures, and information being broken into bite-size segments for each month - providing a valuable prompt of what to sow, plant, and harvest. There are also lots of inspiring information on how to make the most of your hard work - including how to freeze and make fruit cordial! There is of course the usual run down of vegetable groups and types. I have only had this book a few days but it is already my favourite and one that will get used quite a lot. Definitely worth buying, even if you already own a few grow your own books

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasure to read and gloss through. 1 April 2011
Format:Hardcover
This book makes you crave to get out into the garden/allotment and start planting the vegetables the will be on your plate in later months. Dorling Kindersley along with publishing such a great book have also done it while trying to be greener.
I'm thoroughly enjoying using this book for reference with it's weekly guide as to what I need to be doing in the allotment.

5.0 out of 5 stars schmoo 18 May 2011
Format:Hardcover
Loved this book - really easy to follow and inspired me after a very slow start this year on my allotment (thinking I'd just be growing weeds this year!) to get planting direct. The month by month format works really well and a few good preserving ideas thrown in too. Lovely book even though I own several allotment=type books, I can see this will be a firm favourite to refer to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
I like this book. It's not a huge manual like some of the RHS books so if you're after fine detail about each vegetable to grow then this isn't the book you need. Read more
