My Web log may tell you more about what I'm doing right now.

I support the Blue Ribbon Campaign for free speech on the net, the Green Ribbon Campaign for responsibility in free speech and the Best Viewed With Any Browser campaign for non-browser-specific pages (although my interpretation of that is that I should code to the standards, not the lowest common denominator... so some browsers fail spectacularly on some of my sites). I am against copyrights and patents and support the GNU philosophy as far as freely available software goes..

When it comes to humanity, I support the ideas behind humanitarian eugenics, although I think the better long term solution is genetic engineering. I object to the death penalty.

I am a radical atheist secular humanist and find the scientifically unfounded religious prejudices spouted by many people to be reprehensible (e.g. if you believe in God, heaven, or an afterlife, that includes you). I have no beliefs (opinions that are based on faith with no evidence or scientific grounding); I am always ready to reassess my core assumptions in the light of new evidence. I find it extremely funny that people often use the last sentence as an argument to get me to change my mind when they are losing an argument with me. I find it even funnier that they probably don't even realise the lack of logic in their doing so. I live my life based on some life policies.

I am told that I am soft, cuddly and nice on the inside.

I was born in Geneva, Switzerland, where I lived for ten years. I then moved to West Wiltshire, United Kingdom, where I lived for a further ten years. I then spent one year interning for Netscape in the Bay Area, California, a couple of years back in the UK, emigrated to Oslo, in Norway, where I worked full time for Opera Software for two years, then moved back home to the Bay Area where I now work full time for Google doing what I like doing best.

Words

A word that describes me and starts with the letter d: dilatory.

A word that describes me and starts with the letter o: obsessive.

Some words that describe me and start with the letter p: pedantic, perfectionist.

Some phrases with multisyllabic words that describes me: intellectually pugnacious, reductionistic materialist.

I subscribe to benthamite utilitarianism as a moral philosophy. I do not remember what this means but every time I look it up I find it is still true.
