Why work at Twitter?

Twitter is a small company with a bright future. We believe we are changing the world. And in so doing, we're building something hugely valuable and worthwhile. We're fewer than 30 people today, which means that everyone who joins now will have a big effect. Therefore, we take hiring very seriously. We're looking for the key people who will help take Twitter to the next level and create a company culture that is successful and satisfying for years to come. We value talent, creativity, and a sense that anything is possible. We are well-funded and building a company to last.

A great environment

The work environment is extremely important to productivity and happiness. So we've created a beautiful office space in the heart of SOMA in San Francisco. It's very open, has tons of windows (with views), collaborative workspaces, whiteboards-a-plenty, and just the right amount of meeting space. We provide the best equipment money can buy and offer free breakfast, snacks, and often lunch. Good burritos, great coffee, and Whole Foods are just blocks away. Sometimes we'll walk to the park around the corner when we need to talk about something juicy or just get some fresh air (or a better burrito).

All the bennies

Though we're small, we offer the things you'll find at a big company—like competitive salaries and full benefits. We even have an HR department (her name is Krissy), if you have questions about your 401k, flex spending, health, dental, vacation, stock options, and all that stuff. Plus, everyone gets a meaningful stake in the company's long-term success.

It's about the people

More than anything else, we believe that job satisfaction comes down to being able to do what you're good at, while collaborating with other highly talented people on a shared mission. At Twitter, you'll be joining a unique group of folks who have built products and services at companies such as Google, Blogger, Xanga, CNET, Danger, AOL, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone and lots more. And each has brought his or her experience and skills to Twitter to build the best thing they've worked on yet. You'll be better when you leave Twitter than you are today—and you'll feel good about the work you did here. If that sounds intriguing to you, let's talk...
