Jeff Moyer -
The Troubadour of Inclusion
and Character Education.

"The soul-healing, life-enhancing, and potentially world-changing power of music is eloquently expressed in Jeff Moyer's work, especially his musical works for, and with, children. I know of no author, composer, performing artist, or public speaker--and he is all of these--who has as perfectly captured, and effectively communicated, the beauty and also the normality of human diversity. His transformative message is essential for all of us in the human family, young and old, to hear and then, each in her or his own way, to celebrate and sing. "

Dr. Phil Safford
Emeritus Professor of Special Education,
Kent State University Associate Director of Teacher Licensure,
Case Western Reserve University.

The Troubadour of Inclusion
"Jeff Moyer's show raises consciousness …" Billboard Magazine

Jeff Moyer is a National Public Radio Morning Edition commentator and has been featured on the CBS Evening News and 20/20, in National Geographic, and in a BBC documentary on the U.S. disability rights movement. Moyer is a true renaissance man - songwriter, author, passionate public speaker, publisher, and champion of the dignity of all people. His unique blend of humor, music, and powerful ideas has been heard by audiences in 46 states, in Australia, throughout Canada, and in the Virgin Islands. Moyer's published books of classroom activities and his new musical How Big Is Your Circle? Are at work in schools and communities world wide, promoting acceptance of difference, genuine community, and overcoming exclusion, ridicule, and violence. Jeff's six albums of recorded original music span many styles, themes, and forms, but share the common attribute of lifting high the dignity of the human spirit and showcasing the thought, depth, and heart of this talented and versatile musician. Jeff's entertaining, moving, and uplifting keynotes make him a popular and sought-after conference presenter for diverse audiences at both national and international meetings.

"Jeff Moyer is an important and unique musician, not just for the Disability Rights Movement, but for all of us.  His music, his message, and his mission make us all whole."  John McCutcheon, 1998 Grammy Award Winner - Best Children's CD

Keynote Presenter/Educator

Jeff Moyer’s keynotes are remembered for their motivational and uplifting message, and for Jeff’s unique blend of powerful public speaking, warm humor, and audience-involving original music.  Jeff teaches and affirms, challenges and inspires.  He has been heard by international audiences from numerous disciplines.  Jeff’s keynote addresses are often paired with his workshops on his educational materials which provide long lasting community impact and an integrated array of services which, when combined with his ability and willingness to entertain at conferences, make Jeff a invaluable and value-rich asset to any international, national, regional conference or meeting.

"I write to add my own thanks for your wonderful participation in our Start On Success Program in April 2004. Your messages touched the hearts of all of us and underscored once again our unifying theme that 'It's ability, not disability, that counts.' Of course, you play that out yourself every day in all you do, but for all the kids with disabilities, their parents and teachers, our National Organization on Disability Board and staff members, and disability community friends, you communicated it in an especially meaningful way. . . . . Hip, Hip, Hooray for Jeff Moyer."
Alan A. Reich, President, National Organization on Disability,
Washington, D. C.

"The knowledge, experience, awareness, sensitivity and sheer talent that you brought to our conference/celebration transformed what owuld have been an OK effort into something truly memorable. You raised the occasion to an different level--for interns and parents, conferees, NOD directors and benefactors. By your focus and enthusiasm, you provided a spiritual dimension that touched every member of your audience. Bravo ! With admiration, appreciation and affection, we salute the newest member of the NOD/SOS pantheon of 'stars'."
Charles Dey, Director, Start On Success Program, National Organization on
Disability

"Jeff Moyer's personal appearances top the list of inspiration and entertainment in the disability movement. His musical talent is superb. He sings to you, he talks to you, he fills your eyes with tears - but most of all he makes you glad you have experienced him." Carl Augusto, President, American Foundation for the Blind

Assembly Presenter/Artist in Residence

Jeff’s assemblies are perfectly matched to the age of the audience.  Engaging original music and short, powerful ideas teach tolerance, self-regard, and the wholeness of all people. Jeff’s work in schools often initiates the use of his classroom activity guide, We’re People First, or school musical, How Big Is Your Circle?   Assemblies also can be used in conjunction with longer residency activities or preparation for community-inclusive evening concerts.  Residencies are designed to meet the needs of schools and districts.  Workshops with selected students, rehearsals with inclusive choirs, community concerts, and the writing of school mottoes, pledges, and songs are among the activities Jeff offers.

"The two days Jeff spent in our schools proved to be two of the most rewarding ever for our children... his message is truly on target and exactly right for these trying times in the public schools." Worth Hatley, Superintendent, Randolph County Board of Education, Asheboro, NC

He has touched, challenged and inspired audiences of all ages across the country with his message of the wholeness of all people with disabilities. Jeff truly is 'The Troubadour of Inclusion'."
