WWW HEALTH
AWARD The MCH
Library has won a merit award from the World Wide Web Health
Awards. This program, organized by the Health
Information Resource Center (HIRC), recognizes the best
health-related Web sites for consumers and professionals with
the goal of providing a "seal of quality" for electronic
health information.
APEX AWARD The MCH
Library has received an APEX
Award for publication excellence in the category New Web and
Intranet Sites. APEX is an awards competition providing recognition
for outstanding
publications. The competition is sponsored by the editors of Writing
That Works: The Business Communications Report
by Communications Concepts, Inc.
NATIONAL MATERNAL
AND CHILD ORAL HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER GRANT AWARDED TO GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY
Georgetown’s
Public Policy Institute has been awarded $1.75 million from the Health
Resources and Services Administration’s Maternal and Child Health
Bureau to continue the work of the National Maternal and Child Oral Health
Resource Center (NMCOHRC) for 5 more years.
MCHB established NMCOHRC in 1996 at Georgetown University. Since its inception,
the resource center has provided broad access to timely and relevant information
and materials for health professionals, program administrators, policymakers,
and others and has developed a track record of providing high-quality
services. The resource center is well prepared to continue assisting the
maternal and child health community in its efforts to improve the oral
health status of infants, children, adolescents, and families.

NEW MCH LIBRARY WEB SITE
The MCH Library at NCEMCH has posted a new Web site to improve access
to a wide variety of electronic resources on maternal and child health.
The site brings together the MCH Alert, knowledge paths, NCEMCH publications,
databases, bibliographies, and other materials developed for health professionals,
families, and consumers.
