Welcome to NICHCY and a wealth of information on disabilities!
NICHCY stands for the National Dissemination Center for Children
with Disabilities. We serve the nation as a central source of information
on:
- disabilities in infants, toddlers, children, and youth,
- IDEA, which is the law authorizing special education,
- No Child Left Behind (as it relates to children with disabilities),
and
- research-based information on effective educational practices.
Pardon the interruption...
Looking for news on the
reauthorized IDEA?
Right this way!
What is NICHCY's mission?
Simply put--the Dissemination Center is part of a broad Federal
effort to improve results for children with disabilities. We're
funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the
U.S. Department of Education to connect you with the resources you
need in your efforts on behalf of infants, toddlers, children, and
youth who have disabilities.
We invite you to:
- explore our Web site and find out more about
us,
- read our publications and share them
with others,
- find out about the latest educational and disability research,
- sign up for our eNews service,
designed to keep you up to date,
