I know I posted this earlier, but for some reason it isn't showing now. There is also a comment missing...weird. I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year :)

After getting off to a late start this morning, Bob and I headed to the train station. We went to the city to meet Tina! We arrived a bit later than planned, but we finally caught up with Tina at Penn Station. She is even more of a sweetheart in person than she is online! We walked around Times Square a little, went to lunch, walked around a little more and then had to go. I wish we would have been able to spend more time together, hopefully next time we come up.

Tina, thanks for a wonderful afternoon. It was a real pleasure finally getting to meet you! *hugs*

Happy Holidays from New York!

We left NC at 10:50 am on Friday. After 2 hours of bumper to bumper traffic in DC it was pretty smooth sailing, we arrived on Long Island at 11:30 pm. I am thrilled to be back home and visiting with my family. I wanted to wish everyone a happy, safe and healthy hoiday! *hugs to all*

We're going to be on the road for half of the day tomorrow. I still haven't packed anything yet. I will be spending most of the day today doing laundry :P The highlight of my day.

Bob's office is having their Christmas party at a local steakhouse tonight. Dinner is promptly at 5:00, we will be late :) The majority of the people he works with are already on holiday vacation. I believe there will only be 4 or 5 other couples there tonight. Big party ;)

Last night I tried to go to the place where I got my tongue pierced, I wanted to get a smaller barbell. They were closed! I couldn't believe they were closed on a Wednesday night. So I am stuck with this thing until later this afternoon. I can't handle the size of it, it's totally uncomfortable and makes eating almost impossible. The swelling has almost totally gone down, I think it's time for a change. Hopefully the new barbell will make things a little more bearable.

Off to tidy the house and get laundry done...

This morning I woke up and my tongue was so swollen. It was a little sore, but not too bad. Bob fixed me a wonderful breakfast of apple sauce. Not exactly what I wanted, but it was about all I could eat anyway. Thankfully, I am beginning to take a liking to the Lysterine, I've already used it about 10 times today. For lunch Bob went to KFC and brought me home a big bucket of mashed potatoes and gravy. Mmmmmmmm. That was much better than the apple sauce. He also brought home some cole slaw, which I was quite surprised to find out I could eat with very few problems. He also bought me about 10 cups of dannon whipped yogurt. Another mmmmmmm.

I have taken some motrin which seems to have helped with the swelling and some of the soreness. The main problem I am having, as Dawnie stated in the previous comments, would be the size of the barbell. The thing is HUGE, which makes talking very difficult. I am hoping to be able to change it out in the next few days. I have already picked out the barbell I want, it's just a matter of picking it up.

I called my little sister for some advice, she has pierced her tongue twice already (she's 17). She gave a few helpful tips, then opened her big mouth and told my Mom. What a tattle tale :P I wanted to tell her when we got home. Oh well.

I'm off to have an ice pop. Should feel pretty good on the tongue. :)

For at least three years I have been telling Bob that I wanted to get my tongue pierced, but I was afraid to do it. We discussed it again last night, and I told him if my little sister could do it, so can I. Well, we were on our way to the mall today and he stopped at a tattoo/piercing shop. I got my tongue pierced :) The actual piercing didn't hurt at all. I barely felt the clamps and the needle just felt weird, not at all painful. Three hours have passed and I am now wondering if I should have done this. I am so hungry, but I can't eat, and my mouth is killing me. Alex HATES it and yells every time I show it to him (which just makes me laugh and show him again). Supposedly it will be worse tomorrow. Gee, there is something to look forward to. I am hoping that it will be better and that I will be able to put in a smaller barbell before we leave for my parents house. I think part of my problem is the barbell I have in right now is so long (only so it doesn't get squished with the swelling), I can't hardly talk (which Bob enjoys), and eating is almost impossible. I am going to try to make myself some soup, maybe I will be able to handle that since I won't have to chew.

How long is it going to take before this gets better????
